Real Betis loanee Joel Campbell has admitted he would happily stay at the club if his parent-club Arsenal did not require his services.

The Costa Rican striker, who joined the Andalusian club in the summer has not denied claims that his future may be away from the Emirates but he is determined to show his ability to the club that brought him to Europe.

“I’m going to be honest with you. I don’t deny that I would love to show what I have at Arsenal, but I feel very comfortable here at Betis,” he said.

“I love everything here. I would happily stay here. I’m very happy. If I stay here next season, hopefully it will be playing in Europe”

The 20-year-old has only scored twice in 18 appearances this season for Betis, with his last goal coming on the 13th January in a 2-0 win against Levante. But despite his lack of goal-scoring prowess this season, Campbell insists that the team game is just as important.

“It’s great that teammates integrate well to the team.  The more competition there is between us, the better level we will perform at.

“We’ve dipped in form recently, but that’s normal. It happens to everyone, even Barcelona right now. Now we have regained our good form. The team is doing well. When you get good results, your confidence grows. I try and do my best in whichever position the manager puts me in, and if we win on Friday, we can start to think in bigger and better things”
