Valencia need at least two goals when they play PSG in Paris on Wednesday.

Carlo Ancelotti will be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the second leg in Paris

If winning in Paris wasn’t going to be hard enough before its been made even harder for Valencia after they fell to a disappointing defeat at the Mestalla two weeks ago. Goals from Lavezzi and Pastore gave PSG the two away goals that are always so important in Europe.

But thanks to a late strike from Adil Rami, the Spanish side give themselves a chance of going through, and the Valencia defenders can sleep a little easier knowing that PSG’s star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic won’t be playing on Wednesday. The striker was forced into a bad challenge in the last few minutes of the match leaving the referee with no choice but to send the forward off.

But with two away goals, a lead coming back to the Parc Des Princes and the threatening attack of Lavezzi, Menez and Beckham, the French leaders won’t be short of confidence when the game kicks off on the 6th.

Valencia’s form has been good in February but they still find themselves sitting 5th behind Malaga who are also still in the competition.

With the away side needing goals the game promises to be exciting from the off, one goal could change the game but PSG are the strong favourites to progress as they look to build their reputation as a rising team in the Europe.

The second leg will be played on Wednesday 6th March at the Parc Des Princes 19:45 UK time.
